I am a Master's student at the Institute of Medical Science at the University of Toronto. Before joining the Galea Lab, I completed my HBSc in Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, and Psychology at the University of Toronto.
I am interested in understanding how female-specific experiences, particularly menopause, influence Alzheimer's disease risk, pathology, and progression. Females are nearly twice as likely as males to develop Alzheimer's disease, and evidence shows that brain changes associated with the disease can appear up to two decades before diagnosis, a period that often coincides with the menopausal transition. This timing suggests that menopause may represent a critical window for intervention. My research aims to uncover how different types of menopause and menopausal hormone therapies affect Alzheimer's disease outcomes, with the ultimate goal of informing sex-specific strategies for prevention and treatment.
Outside of the lab, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, and exploring Toronto's diverse food scene.
