
Dr. Liisa Galea has been a staunch and vocal advocate for women's mental health and women's health research for years. She has spent countless hours advocating for dedicated funding, greater visibility, and equal representation for women's health. Dr. Galea is currently the inaugural womenmind Treliving Family Chair in Women's Mental Health at the Center for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, ON. She is also a Senior Cluster Lead for the Women's Health Research Cluster. Dr. Galea Testifies at the House of Commons
On April 11, 2024, Dr. Liisa Galea was invited to testify before the House of Commons Standing Committee for Health as a witness for Women's Mental Health. Dr. Galea spoke about the lack of grants awarded to studying women's health. She advocated for ring-fenced funding for women's health research and women's mental health.
